London’s Calling fifth year, and was a little bit different, due to the last minute pivot to London’s Calling TV in light of the Covid 19 situation.
Moving to a physical/virtual hybrid event meant some slight changes and challenges, but we still had some amazing sessions, as listed here.
Please note that not all sessions were recorded.
Helping people make sense of data. We are the longest standing Tableau Gold partner in the UK with experience in all aspects of both Tableau and Alteryx.
If you can build a report in Salesforce, you can customise a dashboard in Einstein Analytics.
B2B Marketing Analytics has opened up the world of Einstein Analytics to many admins and marketers; however, few have taken the next step in building their own dashboards. In this session, we’ll look at bringing in data and creating a dashboard in Einstein Analytics that will help drive action from your marketing teams.
Let’s navigate Social Studio in demo mode!
By the end of the session you will know how to use this tool. Learn some of the pickles, the hub automation extension, and the current connector integration, and why in my opinion is a bit of a kerfuffle.
CDP (Customer Data Platform) is a relatively new term, which Salesforce have started talking about alongside ‘Customer 360’. Hive has been on the CDP journey for a year, so this talk will review the need for a CDP, and explore how Hive is using this technology to drive personalised customer engagement through mobile, web, Salesforce and email (marketing cloud). This includes the challenges of bringing IOT data into a CDP to drive personalisation based on how individual customers are using their Hive products.
You have your Marketing Cloud licenses and you are ready to use them to get closer to your customers. But where to start?
Learn from Salesforce MVP Chris Zullo on his top tips to implement Marketing Cloud right the first time and give your marketers the tools they need to excite your customers.
We’ll cover –
How GA360 audience activation works:- Features- A visual flow of subscriber being tracked by GA360 and then being matched in Marketing Cloud for audience generation
Administering the connection between GA360 and Marketing Cloud – Authenticate Marketing Cloud using GA360 credentials – Define your data access – UTM Parameters Configuration – Apply to any journey with one click – Add Marketing Cloud as an audience destination – Create a GA360 audience
Pardot has 6 releases a year, which means new features come fast and frequently.
In the last 18 months, in particular, there have been key changes that transform how Pardot Admins and users interact with the tool – changes that need to be kept up with! Features include Connected Campaigns, Engagement History Dashboard, Snippets, Matched Leads Component, and Engagement Studio Complex Rules – all great wins for marketers!
Have you been working with Marketing Cloud SQL Queries for a while, but never really understood how you can use them to achieve great segmentation to see how your subscribers are engaging with your emails? Do you want to better understand how Data View Tables relate to one another?
In this session, I will be going over how we can use these Data View Tables to their full potential, while also looking at some great examples of queries using them, to get the most out of your Marketing Cloud Data.
APIs are not just for Admins anymore. “External Services” lets Admins design Flows to interact with external APIs without (much) help from developers. APIs give you access to external systems and data but until now have needed APEX developers to help set it up. In about 20 minutes I’ll show how to use External Services and Flow to create powerful user experiences and process automation – WITHOUT writing a single line of code #ClicksNotCode
Are you an Awesome Admin who would like to grow their power by finding out more about VS Code? Or are you just new to VS Code? Happy to be able to help! The session will start with a VS Code intro and will sink further into details by connecting with any org. Examples will increase the learning curve exponentially. If you would like to learn more about how you can use Salesforce and VS Code together, then this session is for you.
“My Salesforce is slow” is a common complaint by users. As you implement more and more functionality, record saving times will eventually become slower and slower. Your devs tell you only code can save you now. But there is a way without any code! In this session I will explain the concept of decoupling processes with a combination of Process Builder and Platform Events. Moreover, there will be a live implementation and I will share learnings we had along the way.
Watch three cool Service Cloud technologies: IoT, FSL and Community connected in a 24×7 real life scenario modelled in a Greenhouse demo. Electronic devices measures greenhouse parameters, and send readings to the Salesforce IoT that reacts to deviations or unexpected events. When the glass roof gets broken, the nearest technician receives and order that let him go and fix the issue on-site. We will dive into the internals so you get a fair understanding of each of the presented technologies.
You may have heard that best practice with the Salesforce Process Builder is to only have one process per object. And you may be the only one. We see dozens of orgs where either no one knew that, or people did and didn’t follow the guidelines. To be fair, it’s not that obvious how to have just one process firing per object, so in this session, I’ll be looking at why you should, why you sometimes can’t, how you construct your process and considerations about things like governor limits.
In this session, you’ll learn tips and tricks to make your application run fast in an org with large data. Together we’ll discover the wonderful world of large data volumes, which are often overlooked but are equally important to building and supporting an application. You’ll take away with the knowledge to make your reports and dashboards, global search, list views, and data imports run much faster. And who doesn’t love speed?
Unlocked Packaging looks great, but what benefits does it really bring? How do you get there? What gremlins are hiding in the life of an org managed with Unlocked Packaging? Having run a few consulting projects with this new technology, we’ve made the mistakes and learned the lessons. In this session, will share the things that have worked for us and how to evaluate whether or not Unlocked Packaging is for you.
Salesforce CLI helps you automate many mundane tasks, however, many tasks lie outside of the “Salesforce” application lifecycle management. Gulp is a cross-platform, streaming task runner that lets you automate many of development tasks outside of Salesforce realm, such as using pre-processors like Sass or LESS. If you are an automation junkie like us and are looking for ways to boost your productivity, in this talk we will show you how to create an SFDX plugin with Gulp in it.
Salesforce enables us to build highly scalable solutions using event-driven architectures.
We incorporate complex processing from native Salesforce flows and perform real-time data integration with Salesforce and AWS.
The session will present and demo scalable frameworks that open up endless capabilities using serverless functions:
a) Platform Events & CDC triggering AWS Lambda functions via AWS Simple Notification Service (SNS)
b) Preview the latest Salesforce Evergreen integration capabilities
Life before packages: big monolith deployments and spaghetti code. Motivation to go with DX packages. The plan: two approaches. The real story: went live with more than 20 packages. Our feedback:- Working with cutting edge technologies has its pros and cons – Complete redesign of the code and dev ops maturity required – Difficult and long ramp up for developers – Don’t put everything in packages – Still a long journey ahead. If we were to start the project over again, would we do it differently?
Over the years, after seeing numerous small & large projects, I tend to think that Salesforce is an excellent platform for building monsters. It’s so easy to just add new features, implement business requirements in so many different ways that eventually you end up with a “Big Ball of Mud” rolling down the hill. This presentation focuses on Domain-Driven Design patterns that were proposed by Eric Evans and how to apply them in APEX as a framework for a scalable architecture.
As you are aware about Salesforce objects, they act like containers to store data. This could be a Standard object, Custom object, Managed Package (AppExchange) object, External object and sometimes a Big Object. Have you ever needed to get details from across all these objects using a single query to build a report or process business logic to collect aggregated data? If so, come and join this session to learn how Salesforce is planning to bring this revolutionary idea into reality.
After 7 years of experience in support, I’ve faced several non-time-proof projects. In this talk, I’ll show 5 real customer issues, how the issues were solved, how we could have prevented with strong architecture design, and what to keep in mind to ensure our designs are time-proof. The issues to I’ll talk about are:
Bad dimensioned UI
An easy to fix Dynamic SOQL in multi-package orgs
Bad designed data model
Order of execution
Record locking (due to lookup skew)
This session will show the power of Einstein Analytics and Einstein Discovery to find the places in Europe to eat. We will take Trip Advisor reviews from 30,000 European restaurants categorised by City, Price and Food Type to see which city we should have on our city break break list. The session will demonstrate how in just a few minutes you can take a dataset, upload to Analytics, select your Outcome and then set Einstein to work to get some fascinating foodie insights.

Unit Tests are a powerful tool that can diagnose issues in your Org, and are increasingly used with declarative features like flows and processes. In this session you’ll learn what Unit Tests are, how to run them, and how to interpret their results to get you back on track.
It is possible to get a long way with standard Products, Price Books and Quotes. However there is a point where you need more functionality and ability, this is when CPQ can be extremely powerful. In this session we will be exploring the main areas of CPQ that tend to be the tipping points for customers who purchase it, as well as exploring how they get ROI from the product.
Imagine having one “deluxe” custom report type per object to address a majority of report requests – pulling in up to 1,000 fields from up to 60 related objects with ease. You’ll instantly know which report type to choose in order to get the data you need without any trial and error. Come learn how easy it is to demystify report types, consolidate the litany of overwhelming clutter, and empower yourself with a revolutionary paradigm that frees you to confidently query for conclusions.

You will learn some of the basics of the new programming model: properties, events, communication patterns, how to use the amazing @wire service and much more. To communicate the components, I will use the new Lightning Message Service (which is included as a Developer Preview feature in Winter’20).
With the advent of the Salesforce CLI it’s easier than ever to extract your org metadata. Don’t let it sit there on your filesystem doing nothing, use it to generate documentation for onboarding, integrations and more. In this session I’ll show how to create a CLI plugin to process the extracted metadata and generate web pages detailing your org configuration in a single place.
Often our Salesforce orgs are very tightly coupled, and within them, it’s not easy to swap out pieces of functionality when requirements change. This means development not only takes longer and costs more, but you can’t be as agile as you’d like to be. Thanks to Platform Events and Change Data Capture this no longer has to be the case! We will cover how to get started, how to incorporate external microservices, and build less coupled, more agile applications on Salesforce and beyond!
So you thought you’d switch on Entitlements in Service Cloud and all your SLA requirements would be solved? Nope, then this session is for you. Practical lessons learned from optimising Service Cloud. Want to automate those pesky milestones? How about making Case Status show what you did automatically instead of being updated manually? How about closing cases when the customer fails to respond. All of this, and more, can be automated, I’ll show you how.
